Battlefield Hardline is a tottaly new take on the franchise swapping out the the mundane military format and replacing it with cops and criminals, and that's not the only thing to change.
The vehicles are now sedans, police cruisers, riot vans, etc.
There are 5 new (revamped) game modes.
Maps are more condensed, battlefields trademark "LET ME RUN FOR 5min WITHOUT SEEING A SINGLE ENEMY" has changed into an inner city brawl. It's different than what your used to in battlefield meaning your never far from the action.

As for the campaign I must admit, it's one of the best fps campaigns I've played since the original modern warfare and that's probably down to the amount of effort visceral has put into it (something rarely done anymore!). They hired TV writers to script the campaign into episodes knowing few people play through an entire campaign in one sitting. Each level is an episode so if you've had enough after 2 episodes fearlessly quit to the Main Menu. When leaving a Campaign you are shown a glimpse into the future episode/level "Next time on Hardline" and the same goes for when you return to campaign "Previously on Hardline" its a small change but it does help you get into the campaign more. The story is nicely done as well, you play as detective Nick Mendoza who's trying to track down the source of a new liquid cocaine drug "Hot Shot". There's a couple of twists and turns as well as side objectives that keep you wanting more. The ONLY issue in the campaign, which can only be described as lazy, is the repetive model for the NPC. All arrests look identical!! All in all a well worth while campaign and one I'd happily play again.

**Games are fun, but brilliant with a good squad, maps are really well designed, although some maps really are not suited to certain game modes, and there are far less issues on launch than there was in BF4, between the IDG platoon we've only found a few, mainly lasers and flash lights seem to penetrate about 4 walls giving your position or approach away, and also two new game modes, cross hair and rescue both have a 5 second countdown at the start of each round but this can easily be bypassed with a double tap of the OPTIONS button giving you vital seconds to push across the much smaller map and gain the advantage. Hopefully Visceral won't drag their heels in addressing these issues.**
