Standby Mode

Is a great addition to the console, while in this mode your PS4 can download Updates, Games and Charge your Dual Shock Controller or anything else powered by USB. To select this option go to Settings, Power Saving Settings to activate feature.

Here's a little Playstation info that might help you improve your gaming experience.

Some of these you may know but I'm sure you missed out on atleast one.

This ones for the players...

                                                        Voice Command

By using the PS EYE or the Mic on your Headset you can command your PS4 to navigate apps, play games, take screenshots, return to the home screen...all by saying Playstation before the command, ex. "Playstation...Power Off".

Use Your Smartphone or Tablet as a Keyboard

Download the Playstation App and pair it with your PS4, under Connection Settings of your PS4. Make sure both are signed in with the same PSN ID (also using the same connection) select second screen option tap on the keyboard icon in the top left and your away.

Connect to Social Media

Connect your PS4 to Facebook/Twitter and you can share as much or as little as you want. You can even share your ps4 updates/trophies/gameplay.

Share Factory

The Share Factory is an editting system that Playstation has given its users. It works much like any editing program, Cut, Insert, Add EFX and so on. With this app you can embelish your greatest recorded moment with intros, endings, transitions, text, pictures or even 1980's Batman punch text BAM, WHAM, KPOW. Edit to your hearts content.

                            Adjust Devices

If you hold down the PS button you can adjust the dualshock speaker volume, headset volume, headset output, the brightness of dualshock light bar, and turn off your PS4

                                                 Recording Gameplay
PS4 constantly records the last 15 minutes of gameplay, so if you just achieved the impossible or if you just wanna show off...hit the Share button and save your video. From here you can post to Social Media, save to USB or just add it to your archive. You can also manually record game footage by dubble tapping the Option button to start recording and then tapping once again to finish there is still a maimum of 15minutes.
Customize "Share" Button

Factory settings currently has you press the Share button to bring up the Share menu, while holding the Share button down it takes a screen shot. But this can be reveresed by selecting Easy Screen Shot mode found in the Options menu of the Share screen.

PlayStation LIVE

Are you testing out a new game? Wanna show people how to get past a cirtain boss or level? Well PS Live is the best way to do it. With PS Live you can broadcast your gameplay while playing. To access this tap the share button and you will be given 3 choices Video, Picture or Broadcast. Using Twitch and or Ustream you can show the world what you want them to see.

Use PS VIta as a DualShock 4 Controller

So you've got a friend around and only on dual shock controller...well now you've connected your vita to the PS4, why not use it as a controller.
Remote Play

Use your vita to play your PS4 remotely anywhere with a decent internet connection?

Use this link for a step by step guide.

What's New?

Check out the What's New section periodically to see whats new with friends.

                                                        Library Card?

All your purchased games/apps are now stored in the library so if you have previously downloaded something and deleted it to make room on your HDD heres where you go to rediscover it. This is way faster than opening the PSN menu and scrolling through games/apps.

Switching Apps

Press PS button once, your game will be paused and you will return to home menu. Dubble tapping will quickly switch between your two most recent apps.

 Security

If you don't want anyone accessing your account you can set up a 4 digit pass code (not too hard to remember) You can also set parental controls to restrict access to games, apps, bluerays...pretty much anything that has an age rating. You can also disable the PS internet browser and block user rated videos as well as restricting contents shown on Playstation Store.
